Terrain Hazards

Terrain conditions may present hazards for operators:

– unnecessary jarring & jolting

– reduced visibility & control

– load may shift

– vehicle may roll over

Hazards include:

  • soft, hard, rough, smooth or icy surfaces.
  • slopes, ditches, open trenches
  • rain & dust

Terrain Controls

  • Prior to starting examine the area and check for possible obstacles.
  • Adjust your speed to the conditions.
  • Wherever possible, correct problems encountered during operations.
