Additional Fire Extinguisher Information
- Using any extinguishers improperly can be hazardous
- Discharging “too close” can cause the fire to spread.
- Using Halon extinguishers in enclosed spaces or without wearing proper respiratory equipment.
- Halon extinguishers are no longer made, but may still be in use.
- Dangerous gases are formed when halon is used to put out fires.
- After use, do not allow anyone to enter the area until it has been well ventilated.
