Indicators & Gauges

• Familiarize yourself with Warning devices, gauges & operating controls.
• Engine oil pressure, water temperature, volts, transmission temperature & other vital functions may be monitored by gauges or lights.

Control Levers/Functions

• Several types of control levers are used.
• Review the manufacturer’s equipment manual for a general description of the typical functions of these levers.

Inside the Cab Area

• Ensure tools & other materials are properly stored or fastened down – they can:
  – become hazardous projectiles
  – lodge foot pedals & interfere with safe operations
